Saralyn is a San Jose local where she thrived in many team sports and dance organizations. In addition to competing in volleyball and cross country, she performed with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum Corps color guard for 7 years and received many awards like outstanding Colorguard member in 2008 and the Art Velarde Memorial Spirit Award in 2014.
Saralyn went on to attend SF State University where she received a BS in Kinesiology and minor in dance in 2016. After graduation, she worked in acute and outpatient rehabilitation centers and hospitals as a PT and rehab aide. She assisted in developing home exercise programs and learned the importance of interdisciplinary care for pain management.
With her active and healthcare background, Saralyn found that massaging her family and friends gave her the ability to help others heal by reconnecting their bodies and minds. She honed her massage skills after attending the National Holistic Institute in San Jose and completed the Core & Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy program. By March 2020 Saralyn became a Neuromuscular Therapist and health educator. She learned many techniques, such as trigger point release, myofascial techniques, deep tissue, Swedish massage, and since then cupping massage. Saralyn’s goal is to always keep learning new ways to bring awareness and balance to the body and create a safe space to support her clients’ healing process.
